BHIM-Aadhaar Platform Launch : 10 Important Things

BHIM-Aadhaar Platform

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched the BHIM-Aadhaar Platform for merchants. BHIM could use the app only for fund transfer but now with the help of it, payment can also be made in shops and other business establishments. This biometric-based payment system facilitates payment on the basis of thumb impressions. With the help of this app, people can also make cashless transactions, who do not have a mobile phone.

Find out, what is the basis for merchants, pay basis platform, which is also beneficial for customers.

First of all, BHIMAdhaar is not a new app but rather a platform. This merchant payment platform has been added to the BHIM App. Many banks have already launched their special apps ‘base pay’. Now, this platform has been integrated into the BHIM App. If you do not see this option in the BHIM app, update it.

credit card or debit card fees:

The biggest advantage of BHIMAadhar is that merchants do not have to provide MDR for this. The MDR or merchant discount rate is charged by banks, which is taken in exchange for providing credit or debit card services from merchants.

Cashless transactions without smartphones:

Aadhaar Pay is the merchant version of the Dell-Aided Enabled Payment System (AEPS). This will benefit those who do not have a debit card, mobile wallet or mobile phone. The advantage of this platform is that customers will not need to use debit or credit card for payments. This will also not require other payment applications or POS machines.

This platform uses biometric scans. This means that fingerprints or biometric data are validated for the transaction.

Need to be connected to bank accounts:

Users do not need a password or app for payment, but their base number should be linked to their bank accounts. Payments can be made only if this happens.

Will do such work:

Merchants need to download BHIM app from Google Play Store. In this, they will go to the menu and go to I am A Merchant and insert the details. They need to add a biometric scanner along with the phone and link it to the app.

When a customer has to pay, then he has to put his base number on the app and choose the bank whose account is to be paid. After this, the biometric scanner will perform verification by scanning the fingerprint.

Available for iOS and Android:

The BHIM app is available for both Android and iOS. You can download it from Google Play Store or iTunes.

Internet will not work without:

Debit and credit card machines also used to work through telephone lines, but to work through the BHIMAdhaar platform, it is necessary to have an internet connection. This will be the user’s biometric data verification.

Fund transfer as before:

This process can be used only for payments. Transfer funds BHIM app has to be used as before.

Secure is this platform:

According to the Policy Commission, there is a very secure platform on the basis. It will use the base payment bridge (APB) and the base-enabled payment system (AEPS). The work of APB is easy to carry out transactions between banks and customers and the online process will be authenticated from AEPS.
